Biography

Kate studied 3-Dimensional Design (ceramics) at Loughborough College of Art & Design graduating in 1984.  Following a year as Artist-in-Residence at a school she produced her pieces as part of the Nottingham City Artists group exhibiting regularly and selling through a number of London outlets including Liberty's.

She has worked as an Art Teacher in secondary education and also in the theatre on costumes.  During the time she worked at the Sydney Opera House she also studied 'real' shoe making.  

Kate now works from her studio at her home in the Cotswolds..

The Shoes

The shoes are made in pairs and are life-size - approximately an English size 6. Each pair is a one-off, un repeated design and is very labour intensive.  After designing it takes about 20 hours of meticulous work to make each pair.

Commissions are welcome

These ceramic shoes would make an ideal wedding present or gift for another woman with a passion for footwear.  They range in price from £300 to £475 depending on amount of detail, application of glazes etc.  

The shoes can be courier delivered at cost rates.
