 Jacinta,

from my Floral series, a range embracing motifs of pastel coloured flower patterns against either a pale creamy or a dark coloured background.  The shape of the shoes is very Rococo, a style of art and ornament associated with the excesses of French High Society and Louis XV reign.  During this time trimmings on clothes and shoes were elaborate and costly using all manner of lace, ribbon and flowers. The shoes have the Louis heel, waisted and splayed at the base. The body of the shoe is lilac with an impressed pattern of flowers and leaves.  The high top is edged with gold and white beads above green braid and then tied at the front with a large green mother of pearl bow.
