Linnea,

                     from my Floral series, a range embracing motifs of pastel coloured flower patterns against either a pale creamy or a dark coloured background.  The shape of the shoes is very Rococo, a style of art and ornament associated with the excesses of French High Society and Louis XV reign.  During this time trimmings on clothes and shoes were elaborate and costly using all manner of lace, ribbon and flowers. The shoes have the Louis heel, waisted and splayed at the base. The body of the shoe is a dark mottled burgundy with contrasting blue impressed flowers and a matching blue bow.  The top is edged in platinum beads above a burgundy braid.
